Uniform Day

Northern Stars will be hosting a Uniform Day on Sunday 25th February 2.30-4.30pm at Warwick Stadium, home of the Northern Stars.

For new players, or existing players who need new playing uniform or want to stock up on new merchandise, this will be one of your only opportunities to try on and order any of the compulsory uniform and/or optional merchandise for 2018.

Plenty of the committee will be down there helping out so this is a great opportunity to come down, meet all of us and ask any questions you might have before WAVL Trials begin the following Monday/Tuesday! We also recommend bringing down your registration packs as this is a great time to fill them out and hand them in.

If you are unable to attend this Uniform Day – don’t panic! We will have all of the uniform gear available to try on and order on Wednesday 28th February 7-8.30pm at Prendiville Catholic College (where trials are being held). If you are unable to make either of these sessions please contact enquiries@northernstarsvolleyball.com

We look forward to seeing you there!

Men’s Super League Coach Announcement 2018

Northern Stars is proud to announce the coaching group for our Men’s Super League squad for the 2018 WAVL season. Once again Ben Gray will take charge of the Super League 1 men and be the head coach for all men’s teams. Gray will oversee the development of players up and down the ranks and is an experience coach who previously has coached the SL1 men to finals and is a well accomplished player himself. As Gray is expecting the birth of his first child prior to the season Tom Park has stepped in as assistant to ease the workload through this time. Park is a former WAVL Division 2 winning coach and well respected within the playing group. Parks experience and knowledge of the game will be invaluable for the squad. Mubin Syed will be charged with taking the SL2 men’s team to the finals again in 2018. Having previously played in this team Syed will be looking to go one better than 2017 after falling agonisingly short in the grand final. Rianne Parker will again coach the SL3 men’s team. Her track record with this team is exceptional, coaching them to victory in 2016 and to the finals again in 2017 as well as developing some stars of the future

Northern Stars would like to thank all applicants for their expressions of interest and will soon be announcing our Super League Reserve and PVL coach appointments

Women’s Super League Coach Announcement 2018

Northern Stars is proud to announce the coaching group for our Women’s Super League squad for the 2018 WAVL season. Mark Van Winsen continues as head coach of the womens program and also the Super League 1 women’s coach. Under Van Winsen in 2017 the team achieved many of its goals and looks set for a strong push to the finals in 2018. Van Winsen’s coaching and playing prowess needs no introduction and he will be a strong leader for a developing group of players. Ryan Penno has been selected as the Super League 2 coach for this season. 2017 was his first year as a coach and an exceptional one at that, taking out our 2017 coach of the year after doing a stellar job of guiding his SL3 women’s team into the finals. Lachlan Shakeshaft is the SL3 women’s coach for the 2018 season after coaching an open division team in 2017. Shakeshaft has an impressive resume, having coached at Perth Modern in Junior League, WAVL and school tournaments for several years. His eye for technique and analysis of the game will help push the SL3 players in their pursuit of another finals appearance

Northern Stars would like to thank all applicants for their expressions of interest and will soon be announcing our Super League Reserve and PVL coach appointments

2018 Commitee Announcement

Northern Stars Volleyball Club is proud to announce that at its recent AGM On January 7th, it has been able to confirm for 2018 a strong committee to help continue to drive the club forward. Many of our long standing committee members advised that they were stepping into different roles or leaving for new ventures and we thank them all for the time and wisdom which they have invested into the club. NSVC has been fortunate enough to have several new committee members come forward ensuring that the club will not miss a beat going forward into 2018.

President – Jason Galea
Vice President – Peter Woodthorpe
Secretary – Lachlan Shakeshaft
Treasurer – Sharon Parker
General Members – John Sewell, Josh Van Kampen, Amy Mcilroy, Taison Wilkie, Ryan Penno, Jac Garland, Karry Plummer, Kiera Mann-Piercy & Brett Parker

The club is very fortunate to have such a strong committee and to have such wide and varied talents of the general members. Because of this, our general members are able to work in the extra positions on the committee, such as development officer, uniform officer, coach coordinator, events coordinator, equipment etc. With all these positions filled, we look forward to the future with the club in good hands.

NSVC will be looking to announce its coaches for the 2018 season shortly as we count down the days heading into trials. Its nearly indoor volleyball season again!!!
