NSVC vs Rossmoyne Home Round & Junior Volleyball

Northern Stars are proud to announce that it will be hosting a junior training clinic in conjunction with its next home round. Junior boys and girls up to the age of 18 of all skill levels can come down to have some fun and learn some skills before settling in for a night of exciting volleyball. First the men Super League Men do battle against Rossmoyne Volleyball Club, before its the womens turn in a game which will surely shape the finals race. Get down to Warwick Stadium, Home of the Northern Stars for 2 entertaining games on WAVL action!

For juniors attending the clinic the cost will be $5 and includes entry into the home round for the junior and parents. For spectators attending the home round, doors open at 5:00pm, with the Mens Super League game starting at 5:30pm. The Womens game is scheduled to start at 7:00pm (subject to the mens game finishing)

There will be fundraisers,a licensed bar (Strictly no BYO) and Court 9 will be open for food.

Entry is $5 which include raffle tickets – more tickets can be purchased at the door!

Updated Constitution (Rules of Association)

As presented at the 2017 AGM, the new Rules of Association (Constitution) for the club has now been approved by  The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (formerly the Department of Commerce) under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015. Northern Stars Volleyball Club has uploaded a copy of its constitution which can be found here

2017 Registration and Trials

Welcome to a new year of Indoor Volleyball. Please see below for links to our registration pack for 2017 and trials information for February. Trials will run for three weeks. Trials will be held at Prendiville College Gym in Ocean Reef and dates are as follows:

Women – Tuesday 7th, 14th & 21st February 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Men – Wednesday 8th, 15th & 22nd February 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Completed registration documents can be handed in at trials or scanned and emailed to enquiries@northernstarsvolleyball.com  Payments can be made by cheque or cash at trials or by direct deposit. (We are unable to process credit card payments).

Uniform fittings will be in week two and week three of trials.

You must have a current Volleyball WA Membership to play in the WA Volleyball League. Memberships are valid from 1st April until 31st March each year. Volleyball WA will be emailing out soon to advise when your membership for 2017 is available for purchase or renewal. You will need to purchase / renew your membership on-line through the Volleyball WA website

Volleyball Summer Clinic, presented by Northern Stars

Are you looking to learn how to play volleyball? Or are you an experienced player looking for elite development or to have a few hits before the 2017 season comes around again? Running through January at Warwick Stadium will be the Volleyball Summer Clinic, presented by Northern Stars Volleyball Club
 
The 8 sessions will be suitable for all ages and all skill levels and our experienced and qualified coaches will be on hand to help. Each session will run for 1.5 hours and cover a variety of skill sets with players being grouped to train with players of similar ability. If you have never played before or are looking for elite development our coaches can help you!

Northern Stars Volleyball Shines at Warwick Stadium

Northern Stars State Volleyball Club has found a new home at Warwick Stadium where they will develop and play in one of the largest indoor sports facilities in the state. The $8 million expansion to the facility that was officially opened in February after significant investment from Churches of Christ Sport and Recreation Association (CCSRA) and the City of Joondalup, will see elite Northern Stars Volleyball representative players have an edge over rival clubs.

Playing on international standard courts, the opportunity to further develop strength and fitness programs within the on-site Warwick Workout gym, and the continued hosting of WA Volleyball League State Home Rounds at Warwick Stadium highlights how the Stars are making themselves at home.

Being based at Warwick Stadium also gives the Northern Stars coaches and squad access to Australian Olympic level physiotherapy expertise from MTM Physiotherapy Warwick Director Andrew Stanford and his staff. The playing group will have full access to the newly created physiotherapy treatment rooms within the Stadium.

Northern Stars president Jason Galea has noted this as a significant opportunity for the club.
“The Warwick Stadium facilities are second to none. With the ability to access the courts, gym, physio and all the top level facilities it is going to allow us to take our club and the sport of volleyball to the next level”, he said.

Expanding an already positive relationship, CCSRA Director Operations Scott Joy officially welcomed the Northern Stars to Warwick Stadium represented by Super League captains Amy Mcilroy and James Clinch.
“We are very pleased to have the Northern Stars led by Jason, Amy and James as part of our growing community and look forward to success both on and off the court this coming season while developing our partnership further”, he said.

Northern Stars Men’s Super League captain James Clinch, who also represents WA as part of the Perth Hornets Australian Volleyball League (AVL) team, was very pleased with the opportunity to be based at the world-class facility noting that “It is easily the best volleyball venue we currently play in around Australia for AVL”.

The Northern Stars join the resident CCSRA Bethanie Stirling Senators State Basketball League teams and premiership winning West Coast Warriors Netball side playing state level elite competition at home within Warwick Stadium.

Warwick Stadium as home of Northern Stars Volleyball is another exciting development for sport in the northern corridor of Perth.
