Northern Stars State Volleyball Club has found a new home at Warwick Stadium where they will develop and play in one of the largest indoor sports facilities in the state. The $8 million expansion to the facility that was officially opened in February after significant investment from Churches of Christ Sport and Recreation Association (CCSRA) and the City of Joondalup, will see elite Northern Stars Volleyball representative players have an edge over rival clubs.
Playing on international standard courts, the opportunity to further develop strength and fitness programs within the on-site Warwick Workout gym, and the continued hosting of WA Volleyball League State Home Rounds at Warwick Stadium highlights how the Stars are making themselves at home.
Being based at Warwick Stadium also gives the Northern Stars coaches and squad access to Australian Olympic level physiotherapy expertise from MTM Physiotherapy Warwick Director Andrew Stanford and his staff. The playing group will have full access to the newly created physiotherapy treatment rooms within the Stadium.
Northern Stars president Jason Galea has noted this as a significant opportunity for the club.
“The Warwick Stadium facilities are second to none. With the ability to access the courts, gym, physio and all the top level facilities it is going to allow us to take our club and the sport of volleyball to the next level”, he said.
Expanding an already positive relationship, CCSRA Director Operations Scott Joy officially welcomed the Northern Stars to Warwick Stadium represented by Super League captains Amy Mcilroy and James Clinch.
“We are very pleased to have the Northern Stars led by Jason, Amy and James as part of our growing community and look forward to success both on and off the court this coming season while developing our partnership further”, he said.
Northern Stars Men’s Super League captain James Clinch, who also represents WA as part of the Perth Hornets Australian Volleyball League (AVL) team, was very pleased with the opportunity to be based at the world-class facility noting that “It is easily the best volleyball venue we currently play in around Australia for AVL”.
The Northern Stars join the resident CCSRA Bethanie Stirling Senators State Basketball League teams and premiership winning West Coast Warriors Netball side playing state level elite competition at home within Warwick Stadium.
Warwick Stadium as home of Northern Stars Volleyball is another exciting development for sport in the northern corridor of Perth.
